Recovery Drink Recommendation Request

What post-ride recovery drinks do people recommend, and why? If you don't mind, please comment on the taste as well as the effectiveness. The search function provided a few points about this admittedly subjective question, but not really the level of detail I was hoping for. Any suggestions you can provide are appreciated.

yeah. This subject has been done to death, but...

My favorite is to make a shake with:

2 scoops of whey protein
1/2 cup yogurt
2TBSP honey
cinnamon to taste
1 cup of frozen fruit (cheaper than fresh and doesn't go bad)
1/2 cup or so of skim milk or you could use fruit juice

I will sometimes add some raw oatmeal as well to make it more substantial and works for breakfast.
blend til smooth; it will get frothy and light and is quite tasty

two scoops of recoverite + three fingers of espresso hammergel mixed in a water bottle (tastes best to me). sometimes i'll throw a scoop of whey protein from gnc or e-caps. why? i refer to this article.

a guy at work uses myoplex ready-to-drink ... which has the same effect (judging from the labels).

else; orange juice, banana, peanut butter, whey protein in a blender is yummy too.

then, pop a multi-vitamin if you feel you need it.

I'll second the recoverite + multivitamin.

Mocha espresso.

Why? All my rides end at either a coffee shop or at my house where I also have an espresso machine. They did some study recently, threads on it are in this forum, and chocolate milk rated equal to the expensive recovery drinks and better than many. So heating chocolate milk and adding a shot of espresso cant be any worse, which is what a mocha is

12 oz milk
3 tbsp powdered milk
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp dark cocoa
1 capful vanilla extract

Blend and drink. Give your dog the last bits in the bottom of the blender.

skim milk with ovaltine. Simple sugars to quickly refill your glycogen stores, protein for your muscles, and quite a bit of vitamins.

Someone else already said it but adding powdered milk to skim milk is a good way to add good protein for cheap.

All of this is a lot cheaper than endurox. Unless you are a Cat 2 or up I doubt you really need anything more expensive than chocolate milk.
