Non scale victory for my wife!
For the first time ever, she rode a hill today without quitting. Absolutely outstanding! It wasn't that much of a hill by most standards, but it was a 233 foot climb. I'm proud as heck of her.
Factors:
A 52 pound trike
30 pounds of groceries in the panniers
6 pounds of panniers and trunk bag
This made the tare on her trike 88 pounds! Not bad at all!
Here are the route details
and this is her ride, on the Indy Track....

That actually looks pretty flat there . . .
We're having trouble getting back on the bikes. There is a large hill right outside the house that isn't a fun way to end your ride. I just keep telling her it'll get easier every time.
Good job though

Well, as a rider, she's growing at a good pace. She rides State road 38, a 4 lane road.....we have no choice there. It's a high traffic, fast road. She's getting to be fearless in traffic. Her big bugaboo has been hills, and she's just beaten that one today.

WOW! I wonder if I could do that. Good for her!
BTW have I ever told you how cool it is you are so encouraging, thoughtful and considerate of your wife?

A fitty-two pound bike? I don't think I can do it! Tell her I'll try if she's willing to bet pinks. She just might end up with a roadie!...She want the Canni or the Lemond?

Yep, and that's the basic touring load, weight wise, too. She's going to be ready next year for some touring.
One nice thing about the trike, though, she can spin up the hill in the lowest gear and not have to worry about tipping over.

Well done indeed! And that is a cool trike!
Trikes don't get their dues. We had a utility trike at work that the maintenence guys used. They took it away when they found out we were using it for individual time trials on third shift

Congrats Mrs. Stormcrowe!
I remember the first time I conquered a hill that had bested me every other time. There is hardly a better feeling in the world! Keep it up!
