I have no dog in this fight because I haven't been interested enough in the topics to have clicked on your threads much in the past, but you're following a pattern a lot of other posters find annoying, and TBH I've found very annoying myself.
Basically, it's to ask a very long series of questions "helping" one choose a bike, getting thoughtful responses, then starting another thread that makes clear you haven't done your part in testing whether those responses were accurate for your situation before going onto another reason you won't actually put yourself on a bike. At some point, people will begin telling you to eat the damn peach already.
You also didn't help yourself with this thread--the answer to your question was so obvious that I can only assume you had a brain fart when you posted it. It's nothing to be embarrassed about, we all do it from time to time, but instead of just admitting it, you started railing on about snark.

I'm sure that most members, if annoyed, just ignore. This says more about the ones that feel an immense need to express their ire. The vast majority of members have been fantastic, and probably have better things to do then to keep tabs on whether I was able to "test their responses" and purchase a bike during a nation-wide bike shortage.
Like I said, no dog in the fight. You asked why tolerances were growing thin, I explained.
Hope you sort it out.
