Back to school
I can't wait until all the teenagers get back to school. I've had three run-ins with teenagers. The last one: as I was coming home on my commute, some teenagers drove by me slowly and hit me with eggs. I tried to stop quickly and get their license plate but wrecked. I called the police and they said that they would send a cruiser out to the area, but the punks are probably back to their pit anyways. My city has a curfew but it's hardly ever enforced. I work second shift at a hospital, I see these kids out around 11 or 12 at night. I can't wait until school starts so that the kids have something to do instead of bothering people. I hope the kids that hit me with eggs have the kind of luck I've been having recently.
Have a good ride.

The teenagers will be back in school...and all the kollege kids will be back, with their bicycles, riding like dummies and causing drivers to wonder why the hell they should bother to try and avoid hitting cyclists. grrr!!!

Yup. I was riding in town near the college and noticed all the shiny new fixed gears being flaunted about and realized: "Semester must be getting ready to start..."
Then a friend and I were sitting on the porch and he called out to a kid he knew riding by who nearly crushed his bits trying to slow his fixie down (while going the wrong way down a one way).
Time for my fenders to get some more sneering sidelong glances....

college kids coming back equals:
-lots of driving wrong way on one-way streets (confusing town)
-lots more traffic
-much of additional traffic is dumb, some are agressive to bikers
-just a few more bikes, for the most part only the "poor losers" bike instead of drive
-lots of cuties to ogle. is it pronounced ah-gle or oo-gle? this has really been bugging me

But, this is the place Lance found himself as a racer again and everyone loves the outdoors so maybe it is just regional.
