Look what I got!!!

Thanks to Rock n' Road Cyclery in Anaheim Hills, i'm mobile again!

My brand spankin new 2009 Specialized Tricross Triple Sport:

Thanks Ed!!! She's purty

P.S. I got my Madone back from Trek today and Jax charged me $150 just for freaking boxing it and shipping it... They wanted to charge me another $250 for parts and labor to replace the RD and chain and re-assemble the bike.

I told them not to touch a thing when it got back, paid those crooks their $150 and took the bike in peices stuffed in a box to Rock n' Road. Ed is hooking me up in getting it back together and for replacement parts... true customer service, I didnt even buy the Madone from them!

Looks purdy. I've had my eye on a Tricross for a while now. Let us know how it rides! And good luck with the Madone too.. I've been following your thread about it, and it sounds like Stephen King was writing it.

Yeah, no kidding. I'll have a full riding report as soon as I take her on the maiden voyage.

Heh, you talking about the rear cassette? The Tricross is a road bike beefed up and geared for off-road, basically Specialized's cyclocross bike.

RNR is taking good care of me and I'm taking good care of them back. It's a win-win situation.

Yup! The cassette also known as a cogset. Each little ring (gear) is known as a cog.

Yup! We are starting at the business center just south of the stadium. We will be riding to Imperial, then back to the coast. We do that so that we hit the hot section before it gets hot. That leaves a 12 mile strip in the coastal breeze for the return. The section to Imperial form the coast is just too hot for her on hot days.

Trailhead:

57 fwy south just past the stadium to ORANGEWOOD (not Orangethrope).
Exit head west about 1/8 mile to RAMPART
left on Rampart to the parking area.

Most people park on the street near the gate to the trail (SART). We park across the steet an onto one of the lil sidestreet.

We usually arrive about 9:30. Let me know if you plan to sho so we can look for you!

The tires are awesome, it's an interesting design... the contact patch (in the center) has the dynamics of a road slick tire, but the more you go towards the edges the more off-roadey it gets. I'm guessing this is to prevent the tires from sinking into packed dirt or gravel.

I havent had a chance to take it off-road yet, but when I do I will be sure to let you know how they do.
