College Student Looking For A Simple Bike

Hello, I am looking for a bike to use in college.
I found this bike and it looks interesting.
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/bik/2503192392.html
Can anyone give me input?
I'm a noob haha

And someone is willing to sell a 2010 Bianchi Pista for 500. Would this be a good deal too?

The Bianchi Pista is a nice bike but it has a track-ish geometry, which is not ideal for casual riding/commuting.

I honestly don't have the experience to speak to whether or not that bike is good or not for the price.

But pista = instant street cred!

Well, since you are a college student, I assume you are an over 18 year old adult and can make your own decisions then.

A bike that I can commute with, go night riding, and basically adventure (but nothing too extreme) and looks nice too. Yup, yup, yup.

Kilo wt from bikesdirect.com id say. Sometimes I wish I had gotten one instead of my kilo tt because I like wider tires but they're a little more expensive.

Actually, I got a Kilo WT instead of a Steamroller, which was a lot more expensive and didn't have fender / rack mounts or second set of bottle mounts. The Kilo TT has never been on my radar for it's lack of utility. For track geo and stiffness aluminum is the only way to go.

Overpriced... that being said there's much cheaper options on bikesdirect.

And that build is too attractive for a college campus; I can nearly guarantee you that some day after class you'll find your frame on the ground outside your lecture hall because somebody stole your wheel set or it just missing altogether.

And what's that? You're really interested in it? Let's see whose faster and can buy it tonight. Look at my location bwahahaha.

The fact that the first guy took a non-drive shot of his bike makes me wonder if something is wrong with cranks, or maybe he is just stupid.
