Don't know if this will catch on here, but we do it on the zx forums for our motorcycles.

So I'll start it off. Took her on a 20 mile ride then washed her. Cleaned and lubed the chain, Took the pedals off and lubed them( I have a chronic squeaker on the right side, feels like a bad bearing). May be putting the stock seat back on after reading about seat fitment.

Adjusted new Bike

First cleaned the Bike, chain, etc.. Then adjusted everything, installed new SSR saddle, new tires, went on many test rides.. LOL & and could not stop playing with the Lockout shocks..

Then went on a night ride to CVS, now I'm wondering if I should keep it..

Mine's been resting as well for more time than I remember to say. Really loving my 29er and when there's enough green grass scenery at home I'll do a photo shoot.

I finally gave in and mounted my cycling computer on my new bike. I also leaned it against the wall and then just sat and admired it for about 5 minutes. I also took it out for a couple of rides.

I just picked up my first hybrid yesterday - a 2013 Raleigh Misceo 2.0. Brought it home last night after a 2 1/2 hour drive to and from downtown Chicago and installed two bottle cages, pump, saddle bag (with all the fix-it goodies inside) and the computer. At work today til 4pm and it's KILLING ME knowing she's in the garage all alone! Can't wait to put some miles on it this summer!

Thanks - I've been hanging out on the forum for a couple months now reading and learning a ton! I did a ton of research before buying the bike I did and you guys were instrumental in that decision, so thanks all! Looking forward to contributing to the forum going forward :-D

what a coincidence this thread shows up.
I put on a mirror so I improve my chances of living while on the road and added on a elcheapo speedometer/odometer from walmart....

I dressed her up (Ergon SP3 grips, PB Protégé 9.0 computer and Lezyne micro pump) and took her out for a spin.

I took mine to the LBS this morning to address an issue I'm having with rough shifting. Since I bought it from them, they reminded me that I get one free tune up, so they're looking everything over for me.

Too late now but wouldn't it be cheaper to have shop swap the levers and you pay the difference? My nephew bought a road bike last week and the shop only charged $30 to swap from Tiagra levers to 105.

I want to join in, but I've run out of things to tinker with or upgrade. Maybe that's a good thing.

I haven't done anything in a week, maybe better at least check the tire pressure.. Been raining here, and looks like more to come..

Only shops hurting for sales will do this ... also. not really how you "support" your LBS .

Can you explain why a shop hurting for sales would swap to what the customer wants? I thought that was customer service. Also please explain how that's not supporting your local bike shop. He didn't buy the 105 levers online. Because of the shop's service,we wil also buy the clipless pedals from him in a month's time. The shop was kind enough to lend flat pedals in the interim until my nephew decides what he wants. Again this is both customer service and supporting the LBS.

yes but: 1. they didn't offer that, and 2. the 9 spd SLX are discontinued so they couldn't get them for me, which is why i got them myself. it actually ended up cheaper because i got them on Amazon for $75, while if they could still get them from their distributor it would have cost me closer to $100. but you raise a good point. i have to make sure i still get the Alivio shifters i paid for. i suppose i can get a few bucks for them on c-list or something.

anyway i imagine it would be a hassle for them to offer a thing like this because they'd have to either try to sell the stock shifters separately or work out some kind of credit/upgrade from Jamis or something. for all i know Jamis doesn't even use the SLX line on any of their bikes.

Took my bike out for a 10-mile ride and realized my rear tire was low on pressure, so stopped at a gas station to top it off. Upgraditis hasn't struck me yet, so I'm still riding completely stock (besides adding a water bottle holder and bike computer) but the bike's only a couple months old now.

Just an example, a bike shop once changed (EVERY) part from one bike to another. Crank, everything but forks, and tuned both perfect for 100.00 dollars. And I can assure they were not hurting for business. If you buy your parts at the LBS, they have installed them for free, but I always tip..

In that situation you did the right thing. It's up to you if you ask for the original levers or not. I'd weigh it up depending if they charge you for the labour or not. Either way you get the bike you want and that's the important thing.

Installed my new magnet for my cadence sensor. Took her out for a ride and got caught in the pouring rain. Can't believe how much sand I had on my back when I got home (no fenders)
