Need Help Identifying a Raleigh

Hi, I am trying to identify this Raleigh. I am told it is an 86, but can not find anything with the same paint/decals in the catalogs. The descriptions sounds like a Grand Prix, but it does not have a Raleigh head badge, just a decal with "R". Frame has a Reynolds 531 sticker, comes with Shimano 105 components, Weismann rims, and is made in the USA. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Brian

Owner had said serial number starts with 7. I'll see if I can get the rest. Thanks!

I don't know if this is completely correct, but I was told the serial number is 7AN069. Thank you for your help.

It's like a 1984-1985 mid/upper level model. It has Shimano 600 6200 series SIS components. Sitting value is somewhere around $200 depending on your market.

Edit: yes, it could be a 1986. I think that it's not an American market bicycle, however,

Thank you for your help. It does seem like a nice bike. Not sure what the owner is looking at to say it's made in USA. May take a look at this weekend. Thanks, again!

I'm pretty sure that the lead "7" in the serial number is the year of manufacture, as those are Shimano New 105 components, which were 1987-1989.

Good eye. I have a hard time between that 105 group and the 6200 series. They are very similar. The rear brake QR is wrong for 600. The year also helps to explain why I thought it was not a US market bike.

When was 531 phased out of market production? It should be around this time.

I'm not sure exactly when Reynolds 531 was officially discontinued but Raleigh still a model with it at least as late as 1994 and Romic used it at least as late as 1995.
