Any Old Geezers riding Beach Cruisers?
i live in the Vancouver Lower mainland and we had a wonderful Sunny Winter. Nearly every morning I rode my Beach Cruiser (Critical Cycles Chatham) right after breakfast. When I started riding and exercising I was around 220lbs. Now down to 185lbs. (Age 78 now). I really feel good. Legs are great. Owning several bicycles I now find the Beach Cruiser the very best for local rides of around 40 to 60 minutes. They work the stomach muscles as well as the leg muscles. So to all you old guys like me, never give up. Get a physical and if the Doc ok’s you to go riding then get with the program. Really rewarding. I can hardly wait to go riding now and get that early morning fresh air and stop along the way for coffee. Hope this motivates someone as it changed my life for the better.

Sort of. I have a 21st century Schwinn Jaguar that came equipped as a cruiser, except with a 7 speed sprocket set on the rear.
I promptly put on different handle bars and smaller seat to make it a sporty fitness cruiser. A few years later it got a wider seat, fenders added, and lights. Which made night riding after a rain easier to do. Which made it a more all purpose cruiser.

Not old though.
I started riding last week. I first started around the neighborhood, then 1/4 commute to work. This week, I commuted to work 2 times and caught the Bus home 2 times. I'm enjoying my bikes, bike routes, and music. I'm 53 years old, 5'9", 255 lbs. I want to lose weight and get in better shape, and maybe get rid of my diabetes. It gets easier with every ride and I enjoy the peaceful solitude..

My idea of a beach cruiser is my red, white, and blue Schwinn mountain bike (see signature).
