Patching an Ortlieb pannier

Somehow I put a hole (about the size of an eraserhead) in my back roller plus pannier. Any tips on fixing it? Best thing to use?

Thanks

I'm glad you pointed that out. I have the Plus version and didn't notice the patches are for the Classic version.

Here are all the patch kits sold by the site but I'm not sure which one (if any) would work for the Plus version. I emailed Wayne of thetouringstore.com and am waiting for his reply.

Okay, I dug out my Ortlieb catalog. Note below that some bags, e.g., all "Classic" bags, are made of two different fabrics (single-coated PS490 and double-coated PD620) and there's a different patch kit for each, so you may need two patch kits if you have one of those.

The E163 repair kit is for all PU-coated fabrics, including PS10, PS17, PS25, PS33, PS34 and PS36C fabrics (Bike-Tourer, Travel-Biker, Travel-Set, Outer Pockets, Ultimate5 Compact, and all bags that end with the word "Plus"--Back-Roller, Front-Roller, Bike-Packer, Sport-Packer, Ultimate5).

The E35 repair kit is for PD350 (polyester).

The E49 repair kit is for PS490 (Velocity, and all bags that end with the word "Classic"--Front-Roller, Back-Roller, Bike-Packer, Sport-Packer, Ultimate5).

The E62 repair kit is for PD620 (Velocity, Zip-City, Sling-It, some but not all of the Office-Bag, Bike-Shopper, and all bags that end with the word "Classic"--Front-Roller, Back-Roller, Bike-Packer, Sport-Packer, Ultimate5).

The E90 repair kit is for PD900 (polyester).

The E158 repair kit is for the Reparatur-Set Mattress.

I patched my last spring. Wayne at the Touring Store sells the Ortlieb patch kit. It has everything you need and directions.

+1

I patched one of my back roller classics. Despite removing all the mounting hardware and turning the pannier inside-out, it was still pretty easy.

Good to know. I'm putting in an order to Wayne on Monday. He's got some decent deals happening right now and plus he's fun to talk to.
