Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Better, but only slightly.

I had to make the every other monthly "subie stop" where you realize you have no damn oil left and have to find the nearest gas station with some to top off. Just needed 2qts worth SMH

Last thing my wife ran over in her odyssey went through both passenger side tires... and both passenger side wheels. Never found it. I suspect it was rebar.

Damn, my greatest fear. So far nothing in testing, but that's (vtach) the fear given the state of my LV. What are they doing about it?

Also, I just did my yearly "try to sign up for voluntary life insurance" thing. Expecting the rejection letter any minute now.

Yeah, the ventricular arrhythmias are not to be messed around with. Hope both you guys are okay.

As for me I've never had any kind of arrhythmia, even in stress testing. Just something they say my HCM puts me at risk for. And the last echo I had my LV wasn't quite at the HCM level anyways. My ejection fraction has always sucked, though, and seems to follow my FTP. I can only manage about a 10% improvement on either no matter how hard I try.

Try explaining that (and a false positive nuke stress test and super clean cath) on the .5 square inch they give you on the life insurance form, though.

HCM is serious business for certain and I saw a bit of it in a previous life, doing neurology consults.

I rode a few times this summer with a guy with a leaky prosthetic aortic valve. He was still pretty strong and 8 years younger than I, but it was nice to have someone I could beat up on a little. He’ll probably clean my clock after he gets it replaced next month.

Starting with beta blockers, and an ACE inhibitor, then more testing. It's asymptotic and non sustained, so no hard workouts until this is sorted out.
My ejection fraction was good and no blockages or valve issues.

My cardiologist painted a black and white picture about this! I'm in no hurry to die, thank you.

Went out for pizza with the family. The highlight was the car ride back when, with inspiration coming from a conversation with my potty training 3-yr-old daughter, I was able to get the entire family to listen to, and sing the chorus from, Eddie Murphy's only musical hit.

My girl wants to potty all the time, potty all the time, poooootty aaaaaaall the tiiiiime.

It might just be the girl's new favorite song.
