Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Haute Route Alps

Haute RoUte Alps, https://www.hauteroute.org/events/overview/alps-2020 , is a 7 day stage race in the French Alps. I’m planning on doing it next year.

Has anyone done it? Reviews? Did you use a tour company for travel and accommodations? If so, which one?

I have an acquaintance who has done it (and the other ones) several times. You can get the accommodations as part of a package if you book through someone like sportstours .
I think he had a blog but I can't seem to find the link, sorry. Basic review from him is highly recommended, but he is pretty competitive.
I've considered doing it but my competitive juices have been running a bit low lately.

The Haute Route events are not races in the traditional sense. They are cycling events that trace routes ridden by the pros. Low-key and a fun cycling event atmosphere. If you are not interested in "winning" or competitive riding, these events may well be your kind of event.

Yeah , I get that it is kinda a hybrid thing; more of a multi day sportif than a classic bike race; which is why I posted in the road forum rather than the 33

I'm not so sure you can call any event with a broom wagon, anti-doping rules, and ranked results non-competitive.
