Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mine is Performance Gift Certificates. I know it's boring but atleast I won't have to fake a smile when I open that new cycling jacket from Kmart!

After much consideration, but without actually having tried any of the myriad options out there, I have placed the Kurt Kinetic trainer as #1 on my list, cycling related or otherwise... Unless someone out there has a compelling reason that I should replace that with something else, such as the CycleOps one, or perhaps the 1Up

As posted in the other thread.

I can't wait. After the Roubaix I am looking for some winter clothing items (bib tights, jacket, gloves), cycling socks (I can't stand spending $7 on a pair of socks so I ask others to do it for me...LOL), and a Garmin Edge 305 but I wont be getting that due to cost and release date. Gift cards to the LBS or Performance would be great too.

Well my xmas present from my folks this year is the new 19" Samsung LCD monitor that I'm already using (arrived on Tuesday). I needed it due to the eye strain I was inflicting upon myself from my old CRT.

-- but this thread is about cycling stuff --

So I'll tell you what I'm getting myself

A new frame and wheelset. Frame: Gazelle Champion Mondial AB, 531c tubing throughout, nice lug work. Needs a bit of touch up work done on the paint but otherwise in good shape. PHOTO LINK Wheelset is most likely going to be Silver Ultegra/Open Pro to go with the frame.

An altitude tent meaning one of those things that go over your bed to simulate high altitude, or thin oxygen, conditions while your sleeping? Or are you planning on climbing Mt Everest?

Proper riding gear -- bibs, a jersey, and a wind jacket/shell/whatever.

It's easy to shop for Tim... Mom asks what I want, and I e-mail her a list of links to the products in the web-stores.

Eccentric rear hub for the SS MTB is one. Close second is cranks/bars for the frankencross (which is up and running, at least in some capacity, as of last night).

I'm pretty set but I've asked Santa Wife for a few things that I need. Three Park cone wrenches and some Craft base layers and Pro beanie.

Something that goes over my bed. I can't stand cold weather, you would never catch me climbing Mt. Everest.
