What is this Trek?

Is this a 1981 716? I got this mystery Trek from a friend who thinks he got this in 1981. The frame appears to be full Reynolds 531. The Reynolds sticker is still there on the fork; the one from the main frame is missing. The Serial Number appears to be 006916. The frame is solid dark blue with a lighter blue panel.

The original purchaser got the bike to do loaded touring and probably got some upgrades. It has Suntour barcons and Deerhead RD. Wheels are 700C. Brakes are DiaComp. FD is Cyclone MII. Sugino AT Cranks with standard half step plus granny.

The Seat Tube is 61 cm C-T, the top tube is 57 cm, chainstays are 44cm, and the wheelbase is 103cm.

The frame is blue with a lighter blue panel. It has some paint rubbed off on the chainstays and underneath the bottom bracket, and a little rust, but not too bad. The frame has a lot of UW Student Housing stickers on it (those dummies make you sticker your personal property kept outside or in the sheltered bike parking areas, or at least they did when I lived there.)

Unfortunately it is a size too small for me, so I don't know what I'm going to do with it.

Seems like a lot of Treks had that 45-50-28 crank and a silly freewheel that didn't really do anything for it. I replaced mine with a freewheel that was better for half stepping. Here's the original;

Having a 45/50 in front would make this kind of freewheel seem much more logical;

Hey, would you be willing to sell it to someone from Toronto? My girlfriend has a beautiful 1983 720 and I've been looking to get a comparable bike! PM me if you're interested!
