Today I bought cables for the new roadie build. Then I got home and realized I bought MTB cables.

Today I got 3 personal records on Strava (first time ever).

Today I cabled up the Litespeed and made a beer can shim for the FD. Haven't been able to ride lately because I got banged up, but might be able to take it for a spin to get the fit dialed tomorrow.

Today I have ridden 1186 miles for the year. Strava overstates my elevation by at least 20% but they say I have 64,000 ft already.

That's a lot of miles for 3 months Tim! Wow. Seems like the speed is a little off in Strava too. I have my bike speedometer calibrated to the car speedo, and that definitely helps a lot. Unfortunately GPS is only as accurate as weather conditions will allow (cloudy weather can affect its accuracy, as well as tall buildings even).

Spent about an hour fussing with some Serfas ribbon bar tape before giving up. I had to redo the wrap four times because it's impossible to work with, and then realized that there's not enough tape to wrap the whole bar. I'm never buying this **** again.

I could have lived with it if the tape was simply long enough to actually wrap my bars. It's hard to comprehend how they could fail that badly. Bought some Supacaz today. Not sure if it's worth the price, but the fancy bar plugs feel pretty ******.

It's nice tape, but definitely some of the least compliant tape to get to wrap around the hoods.

MTB commute into work this morning, 'bout 90 minutes. I felt great and cleared a few steep and/or technical sections that usually make me put a foot down. Weird because I'm fatigued from hard interval workouts on the road bike over T and W, and I had a few to drink with the lady last night. Whatever, I'll take it!

I'm building volume now but not looking forward to some of my training.
Two weeks from now I have a recovery week with only 7 hours planned ride time. Staying off the bike is going to be difficult. Weather is great. I will want to ride!
After that comes three weeks of steady volume with increasing intensity including anerobic endurance. That means short but intense hill repeats, pyramids, etc. Basically pain instead of fun rides and I'm sure I'll wonder if it is worth it.
Tonight I'm going to ride 25 or 30 miles mixed surface on the gravel bike - road, grass fields, singletrack, gravel, cross country running trails, sewer easements, power lines - basically terrorizing the area.

Always tough to see the forest from the trees when you're in the thick of it. Once you're done with the block and rest up, you'll def. feel like it was worth it though .
I've been racing a lot and kind of lazy in between for 4-6 weeks now, focusing on really piling it on this and next week. Hopefully I get a nice fitness boost out of it.

You should try gravel T. Same team tactics, groups, breakaways, chases, bridging, leading out, etc. People at gravel races are really friendly. That's kinda the point.
This is the event I will do June 2. Check out the crash at 2:30.

I may have to check it out at some point, if for no other reason than because a lot of my road teammates and friends do it and they seem to have fun. I have a mtb so I may just enter one for fun and mob that for now. If I like it enough it could be a good reason to N+1

Hincapie and Christian Vande Velde raced the last race I did. Mountain bikes were keeping up with them on the mountain descents.
Staying kinda on topic, there was a guy racing a fixed gear Moots MTB.

Did a 23mi road ride today, realized how out of shape I am from being lazy the past couple months when I nailed myself to the wall on a climb that usually doesn't give me much trouble. Loving the way the Ti bike rides though, hope to take it out for a longer spin tomorrow.
tumbleweed
today i pulled off a gnarly pawn shop
rescue.
I found a Mercier Stripper for $40.00
I barely looked at the thing and said done and done.
Fresh tires and some riser bars and shes good to go.

Are you a male? If so just lift up one of the legs and you're good to go.

Today, as the first quarter of the year is coming to a close, my total mileage passed 500.
I'm on track to get at least 2000 by the end of the year, and I should actually get somewhat more than that, because the cold, dark months have passed and it will only getting easier to increase my average daily distance. I know TimothyH and some others here are putting this mileage to shame, bit I'm happy with my performance so far.
My goal is to ride every day in 2018 (Sundays excepted), and I haven't missed one yet.

Got in over 100 miles this weekend. Sunday was great, I rode my track bike 63 miles with 3k of climbing. The weather in SE PA has finally gotten fair.

I got into a 2 man break last lap of a 5 lap circuit race and we only got caught in the final sprint, but I got my first 3/4 podium. Longest 9 minutes of my life.
I also lost to a dude with no socks
