MTB Crank on Shimano GRX Build?
Hi Guys -
Wanted to run this by the forum to see if it possible given the differences in MTB cranks and the GRX 1x cranks.
Want some lower gearing up front in a 1x10 setup. I know that the GRX 400 rear mech can take up to a 42T cassette - I just want to run lower gearing up front. Would it be possible to fit an MTB chainring like a 30T or 32T with the GRX cranks?
Or am I better off just going with an MTB 30T or 32T Shimano crankset up front... any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Why not something like an Easton crank with 30t chainring? That way you can keep a low Q factor.

Buy a GRX 2x crankset and take the big chainring off and replace with a bash guard. Then you can go 2x if you change your mind down the road.

I know that Easton makes a BSA BB, but would like to stick with Shimano - reliability is incredible.
Thanks for the suggestion
