Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Weather wise, we are experiencing day long riding weather. I, unfortunately, don't currently have all day fitness. But it was beautiful out there today. And it was beautiful out yesterday. I started my ride at 3, an unthinkable time this time of year. Today would have been custom made for a century. I got 30% of one.

Only 700 feet or so of elevation gain. But, I will take it on more hilly rides.

this is certainly an unusual circumstance. Normally we are laying down well thought out and relevant knowledge from on high.

Hey man, I checked - the bridge was gone. Unless I wanted to add a swim leg to the morning activities, I could not pass.

It's bad for tri where you have flat supply issues.

Also, this was prior to everything being wind tunneled, so they had to build a frame and test it in the velodrome and see if it worked. We could do better now with steel if we wanted to, but it would still be slower than a P2.
Another fun variation was bars mounted to the fork crown.

Colnago with their dual stems jammed into fork blades setup:

And possibly the best combination of beauty and wackadoodle in a pursuit frame:
