They sent wrong size BB
After being off a bike for 6-7 years I'm finally getting around to getting back.
Ordered a 68x122.5 bb a week ago, it arrived an hour ago. As I removed the box from the bubble envelope, the box is clearly marked 115mm, in three places!
I realize it's < 5/16", still frustrating nonetheless. If I recall there was approx. 1/2" between the inside of the non-drive crank arm and the bb housing on my frame.
I'm thinking it should work okay. If I am mistaken please advise lest I go ahead to install the 115mm, find it won't work, then I'll be pissed for wasting my time.
Bike is a 2007 Navigator FWIW. Thanks for the input

Before you install (even dry as a trial) you need to confirm the seller's return/exchange policies. BTW the amount the RH crank side will change w/ the new BB is half the length difference (assuming both are symmetrical). The other half of that difference will be lost on the LH side. Andy

Might work. But if the old one was 122.5 and was previously working correctly and playing nicely with the front and rear gear shifting, and not rubbing the chainstay, then why take a chance on the wrong part.
Call the vendor and get the correct one on it's way.

Can't really do a dry fit as it came with anti-seize on the threads.

Is the old BB off the bike?
Put the old one back in, and check clearances carefully:
- DS/NDS cranks at the chainstays
- All two or three chainrings at the chainstays.
- Derailleur throw?
122.5mm - 115mm = 7.5mm.
Assuming it affects both sides the same, the 3.75mm per side, or about 0.15", or just over 1/8".
My guess is that you'll be fine with the new BB. But, as others have said, the seller may still be obligated to make it right.

You'd sure hate to install it and then find you can't shift to the smallest ring because the FDER won't move in enough.
Does IT have 4-5mm more inward travel?
Personally, I'd make the vendor make it right. Why deal with a potential can of worms trying to bail THEM off the hook.

Contact the vendor. I find attaching the original order confirmation showing 122mm and a picture of the part as delivered, showing 115mm is pretty clear.
Often, they'll just send out the correct part, and not bother with requiring the return of the incorrect part.

I'll likely wind up sourcing a correct one from a local LBS and ship the 115 back, which is actually what I was going to do in the first place. The original one (<5000mi.) is not as smooth rotating as the new one. Need to pick up platform pedals and brake pads anyway.
This all began with a bad bearing in a substitute pedal caused the drive side crank arm to strip all but a couple threads. Already have the new crankset.

Quick follow up here, just got a response from the seller that they are sending the correct bb right away along with a shipping label.
I emailed photos and order sheet @ 1830ish. Needless to say I'm pleased.

This I have never seen on a new BB, as from the factory. Now there's a lot of parts (these days) that come with a dry spot of a thread locking compound on the threads or with grease applied to various fittings. But anti seize, never as a stock treatment. Andy

I believe what you note is a dry threadlocker compound. It will have some corrosion resistance where it ends up spread to (after install) but is not what is known as anti seize by most. Threadlocker is intended to fill the gaps between engaged threads and reduce the ability to have vibrations "rattle" the fitting loose. Andy
