Glad you didn't bite it.

What kind of ring was it that failed? Yikes. Concerned.

it was a 50t Shimano 6400 ring from the 90s, im not entirely sure if it was really my #sickwatts or the ring being "faulty" in some way.

the ring did feel incredibly light and it was aluminum. maybe 90s lightweight aluminum wasnt so good?

A little but it didn't change anything and the rest of the saddle was fine. The saddle does feel harder since I laced it. I'm just going to ride it because it looks good on the bike. It'll never feel great because the Pro isn't such a good fit for my ass anyway.

Maybe I will sell or trade it to a friend that likes it.

1-Curious why you did this, more comfy, better looks?

2-Pic please, I am trying to imagine how much you cut.

More for looks but my big ass thighs would sometimes get caught in the "wings" of the seat when riding in long pants which was annoying.

Best pic i have right now, you get the idea..

Thanks, makes sense, and yes it does look better/cleaner.

I would not have recognized that as a B17, maybe not even as a Brooks.

Here's a closer pic of the same seat (but not mine) from the C&V forum. Simple and classy.

how the **** did that happen, was it the dolan?
It was on the CAAD. It was most likely user error from me over tightening since it snapped near the seat post collar. No one to blame but myself. I tighten things like a monkey so I'm better off sticking with metal.

Weight loss = + 3mph. At least.

Looks like a 170mm Swallow. I dig it.

Debating selling my Trek as a complete vs frameset.

I'm currently thinking I could save the components for another bike that comes my way. Or I could probably sell the group and frame separately, while keeping the wheels, which are the real highlight of the bike. Decisions are so hard, man.

https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/80s-schwinn-tempo-7225

The headtube is long but its not that big of a frame.
