SPD-SL pedals rattling noise
Finally figured out the noise that was driving me nuts, is this a common problem with this model of pedal I've only had them for a year and haven't mistreated them.

I haven't noticed any rattling in my Shimano 105 pedals, but mine are an older version (PD-5700).

It's like something broke inside and rattling around, weirdly both pedals have the same issue. I've removed the spindle from the pedal body but even then the rattling is still present.
