I think I need to not go hard the very first day that I am home, and go hard the last day. I was feeling it today. On my second pull I broke off to rejoin the group. Thought the line was longer than it was and I got left in the breeze. There was no way I was going to catch back up to them.

65? There's a New Year's Day ride up to Mount Wilson. I've done it 16 times. A long climb to the summit, if there isn't too much snow or ice, then a long descent. Couple years back it was 22 degrees when we turned back. Pcad told me about putting chemical warmers under the toe covers and it worked.
Riding in the rain sucks, as does sleet, but mountain biking in the snow can be a blast. One time 4 of us were climbing a trail and the snow was sticking to us to the point we couldn't see the logos on our jerseys. When we turned back our tracks were covered by snow.

The day I took the snow pictures of the Gunnar there were little rivlets of melted snow on the road as I was climbing. By the time I turned around to descend they were frozen. I froze, too. Should have brought more layers.

One of my favorite MTB rides ever was when after work my buddy and I went riding just as it started snowing heavily. We finished the ride after dark and the sight of big fluffy flakes falling through our headlight beams was pretty special.

Sure, we have compassion and feel for them, but ultimately, Lisa's grandmother in Kansas City passing away doesn't change the route I take when I walk Lotus. The market doesn't care, and actuary tables prove that people don't much care either. Statistics, man. Mathing never lies.

I hate long flights. We do charlotte to florence south carolina. It’s about a 10 min flight wheels up to wheels down. I could do those all day long.

I remember flying from The Big Island to Maui years ago. As the wheels were off the ground, I heard the *click* of a seat belt, and the flight attendant climbed up the aisle as we ascended, and while we were still going up, she and the other flight attendant managed the drink cart.The whole flight is either ascending or descending. They let gravity pull the cart down the aisle, then when we'd arced over into desending, they let gravity pull it back.

Reminds me of the creek in the little town where I grew up, except the stones were a lot smaller and worn down. There was one spot where the shore was entirely composed of skipping stones of different sizes.

It’s only if/when I hit the jackpot. Plan is to keep Habby pretty much indefinitely, maybe get a new groupset in a couple years. However if someone dumped a pile of money on my doorstep I would consider one more bike purchase and would likely get custom geometry CF. For now it’s just a dream.

It was a rainy dreary morning so I took the rain bike on a MUP adventure. All was well until the trail changed from paved to gravel. The crud from the trail started to accumulate inside the rear fender at the brake bridge (where the clearance is VERY tight) and the resistance gradually became more and more. Initially I put up with it and figured it would be a good workout, but in short order it became impossible to even turn the pedals over. I did my best to get the caked up crud off but it was not easy. I walked to the closest road and tried to find a fairly safe but direct route back to the paved section of the MUP. I got lost several times but finally made it. The ride back was reasonable and despite the annoyances it sure beats work.
