It most likely is not a Reynolds tubing bike, it looks to be a bent (front end crash) low entry level bike in bad shape.

Fuggedaboutit. Fork looks bent, sign of an accident.

It looks like it has a bent fork from a front collision. Pass on it.

Yeah I had high hopes for it, I noticed it but I think I subconsciously decided to ignore it, always good to have a second opinion! Thanks all

-----

Looks to be a low end asian product from the seventies. Note extension brake levers, spoke disc, chainguard, solid axle hubs, cottered chainset, plate style chainstay bridge. Appears dropouts may be spot welded.

Even with no damage and low/free price not worth bothering with.

I don't find much on the classfields at maltapark.com but I found a used bike shop that has a few classics laying around that has a Raleigh europa, winner and falcon banana. I'm sure the winner was not high tensile steel but I'm not 100% about the others. Thoughts?

Are you in the USA? Craigslist & E-Bay are your best bests. Canada seems to lean towards Kijiji: Free Classifieds in Canada. Find a job, buy a car, find a house or apartment, furniture, appliances and more!

I agree that bike looks cheap from the photo, but most department store bikes had stem shifters.

That bike has downtube shifters which could indicate something better than it looks. Try to get better photos and a make and model from the seller

Some links to the sites you are looking at for used bikes will be helpful and also the size of the bike you need

Hi Y'all thanks for the feedback, I'm really looking for a quality road bike, that's not too excessive, I'm willing to spend 500 eur, but good steel bikes are rare here.

Please paste the following links after maltapark.com for them to work as I need 10 posts to be able to post links

I think the one I posted is a pioneer as this one looks similar:
/item.aspx?ItemID=6058879

Yep Maltapark.com here are some links of what I think is worthwhile, granted it need to fit well...

/item.aspx?ItemID=5146131 <= puch pathfinder not sure of material
/item.aspx?itemid=6026985 <= raleigh the winner high tensile
/item.aspx?itemid=6064759 <= this looks really nice but seller is unresponsive
/item.aspx?itemid=6136316 <= falcon bannana not sure of frame material
/item.aspx?ItemID=6155576 <= another raleigh not sure of frame material
/item.aspx?ItemID=6153148 <= looks like another cheapie...

I'm also considering catching a ferry to Sicily and driving it home on a roof rack, I found some old Italian stuff on subito.it .

I need to do more homework there are some shops that sell 2nd hand bikes but I feel like I would get ripped off since I'm not sure what I'm looking at, and info is not so common.

I think I'm convinced, I'm gonna save up for the trip and a decent Italian bike I'm bound to find something in Sicily If only we had a Velodrome in Malta I would also bring home a fixie, I wouldn't dare riding a fixie on Maltese roads though, the're synonymous for bad drivers and though hills... Road bikes are cool too

People on that forum list not only fixies, but vintage bicycles too.

Try this group too https://www.facebook.com/groups/623789987663669/

But you'd better look for Columbus tubes than Reynolds.

All of those posted are hi-ten, except for the Raleigh where you note the seller doesn't respond. And that's bottom end Reynolds. Probably a much better selection in Italy if you can swing that.

I won't be posting on this thread, I'll start a new one when I'll be looking for options in Sicily, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do, it would be cheaper to pay for shipping from Italy but it's not as much fun as going for the trip... Thanks all, will also be posting some pics from my rides in Malta in the coming week if you'd like to follow.
