Centurion Carbon
OK Guys, I'm looking for some late 1980's Centurion expertise.
Back-story: When I first began serious road cycling, I started out with a 1987 Centurion Le Mans RS. It was a nice-handling, comfortable road bike with excellent Japanese build quality. I still kick myself for letting it go - and have been looking for a replacement to commute on. However I recently stumbled across this nearby, being sold by a flipper. You don't see many carbon Centurion bikes, and I thought it might make for a nice ride, plus have a cool factor by being a little unusual.

One thing immediately stood out to me as a prior late-1980's Centurion owner: The brake levers are sketch. Those levers should probably be aero, not cables flopping in the wind with side-pull levers. The rest of the components appear to be Tri-color 600/Ultegra, which would be at the higher end for a Centurion. It has the original Araya rims. I'm not clear what frame this is. If this is a Carbon R model, it's missing the "R" part on the top tube.

Was there another Centurion carbon model other than the R?
The saddle looks huge and is probably not original - which is fine, because I would replace that anyway.
The guy is asking $800. I'm not paying that much for *any* Centurion. I'm fine with the flipper making some money, but I'm curious what you guys feel is a fair and reasonable offer for both buyer AND seller.

Checked the CL post. That is s Carbon R. It looks like a 56cm frame C-T.
None of the components are original. It originally came with full Shimano Dura Ace 7 speed.

I wouldnt be inclined to pay more than $300 for that bike if it were in my size range . If the seller is asking $800 - you might not be able to talk him off the ledge anytime soon - he thinks he has a Colnago or Waterford

Yeah I thought $800 was pretty steep too for a vintage mass-produced bike.
I get that sellers have a wishing price that they are willing to walk down from, but the starting point needs to be in the ballpark of reasonable. Not sure if this price is in the same continent.
