it really helps to have a friend who is a natural climber to push you - i did a hilly ride today and it kicked my butt, but i really think it was one of my most fun rides ever. it also helps to live in a hilly area.... unfortunately south jersey is notorious for being pancake flat...

after reading this thread, I went and bought a cadence computer and did some hills. On the climb my cadence varies from 40s to 60s. Is 40s too low? I was using a 39/ 25, should I try a 26 or 27 to improve my cadence?

two miles in one direction and i'm on the beach bike path, and two miles in the other direction and i've got more hills than i can handle. oh and did we mention the year-round cycling weather too? (well, SoCal anyway)
