Is this a Dahon mu d8?

Hello everybody, I've been a lurker for a few weeks now and still learning about folding bikes.

I found a local guy who might be selling this Dahon and I'm waiting for him to get back to me. He only listed it as a "gray Dahon." Can any Dahon guru help me identify it? 7005 aluminum, marathon racer tires, and 8speed Nexus hub. I can't find any pictures online that matches the paint scheme with the 3 blue stripes. I guess it may be an older model?

I'm just getting ahead of myself and wanting to read about the bike, since the seller hasn't gotten back to me. Also, it would be a hell of a deal if I snag this! Thanks a lot everybody!

I'm hoping it's not worst than the pictures and there's some catastrophic failure I need to diagnose. It's not off craigslist. From his other stuff he's selling and from his address, I'll be meeting him at an upper income neighborhood. Hopefully it's not stolen.

Don't know where you live but whenever I've bought a used bike, I always run the serial number through the registry (for me, it is Bike Index). Just a way to earn some karma =).

100 bucks.. the pedals and the lights are worth more

The brake cable seems to be rotated around the stem. make sure it is properly configured so you don't kink a cable when folding.

Thanks,
Yan

Is it me or does the top tube look amazingly short on that bike?

Thanks,
Yan

if he has the owners manual it is a pretty safe bet he got it legit.

I got one of the dahon 7 speed internals on a MU frame for 200 about 4 years ago.

You would be safe spending up to $500 on that one if it is as good as it looks. Make sure the gears shift properly. Really simple to adjust but if properly adjusted and they don't work----good luck finding someone to fix them.
