What's the most dangerous thing you've rolled up to while MB'ing

My partner and I took what looked like a trail today near our usual series of trails.

It was a trail all right. Right to a series of honey bee hives or whatever they are called.

I was first on site and saw the structures and stood there like an idiot wondering what they were. After I noticed the few hundred bees I was smart enough to yell to my partner and tell him to steer clear.

Somehow or another I eased myself out of there without getting stung.

Close call.

I think the worse thing I've encountered here in the plains is a skunk.

This wasn't involving animals but damn, it was a close call. My cousin was visiting from Hungary so I decided to show him around the local trails here in Spain. There was one trail which I thought I knew pretty well, though since it branches off to dead ends so much you can never be sure. To cut a long story short, me leading I took an early left and instead of encountering the typical dead end I almost shot off the end of a 6-7 metre cliff to flat. Let's just say after slamming the brakes on I stood there in disbelief for a few seconds. Next time I'm going a lot slower on that trail.

Riding in western VA near Natural Bridge last summer we came up on a black bear cub. Thats not the scary part, its what normally follows one, its mother. We just waited for it to leave, then kept on.

One day a few years ago, my friend and i were riding some trails in the state park. We stopped for some water and we turn around and were face to face with a back of coyotes. They moved along towards a river only for a 2nd pack to come down from the ridge towards us. We then watched them all attack a rabbit throw him up in the air and eat him.

Closest was heading to the same point as a running cub and mama black bear, came real close but I went left they went right. Several other times have come very close to other black bears, too.

OP Ever get to see any of these since you're in Japan?

Coyotes are just dog's that come in a "drop-kick'able" package.

Living Oregon I see all kinds of wild life. Mountain Lions, bears, dogs, beavers, etc. By far the most dangerous thing i've seen are LOGGERS!

I've seen three mountain lions while riding. While they are potentially dangerous they all ran away.
I've come across many rattlesnakes too.

Just today my wife and I encountered a youth group of some sort.. about a dozen teenagers with a couple older men "teachers"..all in full camo.. fully outfitted with some sort of toy guns.. doing some training excersises. They were very serious. It was hilarious and scary at the same time.

Sunbathing rattler.

On my roadie, a bunch of confused squirrels got to me after seeing many pics of squirrels jammed between spokes and forks.
