Your Useless Opinion, Please
I once again call upon the infinite wisdom of bikeforums members. I have two rides to do tomorrow with a break in between, but only one team kit. The break will include a shower and lunch with my wife, so I have to decide what to wear. I could wear the same kit even though it will be sweaty and stinky the second time I put it on. Otherwise, I would have to decide which event to wear it to.
The group ride in the morning is our local weekly hammer ride, attracting 100+ riders. Most riders wear their team kit, obviously.
The afternoon ride is a track training session to get certified to ride on their glorious track. This is just a certification course, but I'm getting it for free because of my club affiliation.
So you tell me how I should do this.

Last option.
But seriously, just wear it for both. I don't imagine you're planning on getting neck deep in mud on your road ride.

There will be about 2.5 hours between getting home from the first ride and leaving for the second. I guess that's enough time if I dry it in the machine.

stole your bike
I would wear it for both, it's not like you're going to be sitting around with people on a couch; if you're riding then it won't matter much. It might not feel all that pleasant but once you start riding and get sweaty again it will all be fine. Do wash it when you get home though, wearing it again the next day without washing would not be nice.

Why smell good for the wife? All she can do is be stinky the next time YOU want to cuddle!
Wear the kit for the most important ride, wear something else for the other. The group ride has probably seen you in the kit, and will probably see you in it later, so do it for the show ride.

For the track session show up in full hipster regalia - blue jeans (rolled up of course), converse or some 15 year old Sidis, white t-shirt under vest...maybe top it off with a Kangol.

That's only hilarious to me because Joseph showed up to our club session at ADT by riding his hipster fixie there, complete with flat handlebar and spoke cards. Luckily, he then selected a rental bike to ride for the session.

brian, i'd like to help you but i'm not a psychiatrist.
what is it with paa? is it some sort of cult or something? is it something they put in the water/kool-aid/gatorade? seems like everyone who rides for them has 'issues'.

Now you know why I joined the team
And that coming from someone who complained that my team kit looked too much like his when we rode the tandem on this ride last year. At least this year it won't look anything like yours... if you still like the extra effort you have to use to tow my @$$ up Winston and Bradbury.
See you there tomorrow, but only until Arrow Hwy... maybe Winston.

Wash the kit in the sink and hang to dry. It will be slightly damp for the second ride but who cares? You are just going to sweat in it anyway. Done.
BTW, this is one of the geekiest threads I've ever read...and I just posted in it.

That should be quite comfortable, especially with the stitching on the outside (then inside) of the clothing.

Give your kit the equivalent of a French, sorry "European", shower: throw it in the dryer on "Low" with 2-4 sheets of Bounce. Give it 10-20 minutes and it will be dry and it will smell clean... at least for a little while.

Wear plain shorts for one of them. Rinse out the jersey in a sink and let dry in front of an air conditioner, if possible.

Wear the jersey and shorts into the shower and clean them at the same time that you clean yourself. Put them in for the spin cycle in the wash and they'll mostly dry out. They'll be damp when you put them on for the afternoon, but not stinky.
Alternatively, here's another way to look at it. The Team kit shows your sponsors. For max sponsor support, wear it for the group ride so that the more people see it. If there's only a couple of folks at the track, it's a small drop compared to a group ride on the road.
