North East Storm

I saw on TV tonight, a large Snow/Wind, Rain storm hit most of the Northeast with gust up to 80 mphs!! Did anyone ride in it?

Of course. Although City Hall opened two hours late, so I didn't go in until 11.

Here in Rahchacha, we got 14-16" (as measured in the courtyard of City Hall) but the winds were much milder at commute time--maybe the 20s.

Traffic was very light, so there were no issues with motorists.

The ride of choice today was the Giant Talon MTB with Schwalbe Ice Spiker Pro tires.

Coming home tonight, after the temperatures, plows and salt had had their way with it, it was just another wet road ride.

No way. 60 mph out of the NW. Lots of trees down and branches. At least the trees had no leaves, so the damage was limited. Would have been an easy ride down the river to work, and a tough slog back.

No, Thursday I looked at the weather forecast and planned on staying home. And then it turned out I had to stay home anyway due to a family emergency.

We had a 70'(?) pine tree come down, that's a mess, power out for a while too.
