New bike path in Calverton, L.I.
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bike Path, follows the perimeter of the former Grumman/Navy facility. Has 4 entry points on Middle Country Rd., including parking, as well as 3 entry points on Grumman Blvd./River Rd. 9.5 miles around, paved, uses a lot of the former roads as well as some new paved sections. Not a super wide trail and has a bunch of sharp 90 deg. bends, so not a place to do Strava segments. Good path for families of newbies. Also good to link roads to the south and north, as I was doing today.
