My number this year is going to be 5000 plus. The catch is I am Canadian and we use kilometers. Sounds so much better to say 5000, than 3100 miles. I was only able to do this kind of number because of the pandemic and being off of work. Now that the snow is here, cycling outside is certainly curtailed.
Congrats to @delbiker1 for your worthy accomplishments.

Currently at 8500, expect to be over 9000 by year end. It is great to be retired. At age 70 I feel fortunate to do this many miles this year after hip replacement in 2018 and spinal fusion in 2019. Living in central Indiana I have privilege of riding in all types of weather. These are all outdoor miles, last time indoors was in 90s.

So far 18,040 km ( or 11,236 miles). Should hit 19,000 km by end of year. All 'real' miles, BTW. By far my biggest total.

Just broke the 6,000 mile mark last Saturday. Tomorrow (Thanksgiving) and Friday look like the weather will cooperate to get a few extra bonus miles in. Best year ever.

Just north of 8,000 miles for the year. Don’t think I’ll hit 9,000 though.
All road miles on two new endurance bikes. Went tubeless, discs and stayed with Di2.

You mean this one? I was planning to bump and/or repost it but not until late December.

So whats the point of tallying miles, then, if it has nothing to do with fitness? Should we just measure hours on the bike, excluding any time spent coasting? Maybe only rides with accurate power meters should count, and only those watts above 400, as thats clearly where the hamer is most assuredly droped.

If I'd thought about it way back 15 years ago I suppose I could have started counting Hours Spent on the bike instead of Miles Travelled, because that would possibly serve the same goal. Maybe. Frankly, neither Miles Travelled nor Hours Spent captures the real reason why I ride a bike. But lord knows the Fitness aspect is not high on that list, and so even if I was trying to document Fitness Achieved -- or whatever it is people think they're documenting when they add a 2 hour Spin Class to their annual mileage total -- I'm not sure I'd be particularly obsessive or thorough about recording every single session.
In short (and as anyone familiar with my contribution to the Annual Mileage Pissing Contest threads around here already knows) my beef with the entire concept is purely semantic:
If you want to include time spent on your stationary indoor trainer, document time, not distance.

2020 update
I got in a 30 mile ride this afternoon, which leaves me 50 miles short of my 2020 goal of 7320 miles, I have been taking a couple more days off than I usually do. I still have a chance to hit 8000, but I am not going to obsess on that number.
All of miles are outdoor rides, mostly pavement. How somehow else wants to record their miles/time, IMO, is totally up to them. Personally, I do not like indoor cycling. I don't even call it a ride, just spinning/pedaling. If that is your thing, if you want to record it as miles, good on ya, keep it up.

Three days, three rides. 53, 41 and 50 miles today. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to turn cold, so this may be it for the season. 6,183 outdoor miles for 2020. My best season ever.

To each his own. I say if you're turning the pedals, it doesn't matter if the bike is moving or not. Again, it's your log, and your miles. That being said, I'll end up with over 12,000 "real" miles this year, I hate the trainer, but only because it's boring, not because I don't think it counts. 2,000 more than last year, pretty happy with that for my second year on the bike.

Good year
Just shy of 4,700 miles this year. I'm in international sales and the needless to say, travel has been effectively banned. It sure helped me to have more time in the saddle. Record year for me.

Goal achieved
As of this afternoon, I have now exceeded my 2020 goal of averaging 20 miles for everyday of 2020. This past weekend, I rode 40 on Fri, 50 an Sat., and 40 on Sunday to sit right on 7320 YTD. I did a quick 10 miles this afternoon and am now officially over the goal at 7340. I could still hit 8000, but am not going to obsess or stress over that number. Going back 2 weeks from today, I now have 6 days off the bike in that time span. I guess my goal for the rest of the year is to just keep riding, but with no pressure regarding number of miles.

Great job!
My highest is a skosh over 4,000 in 2018.
I didnt ride from mid April until the first week of August. Missed out on all the extra riding everyone else got in this year battling depression and moving back to the states.
Im back on the trainer counting my hours for fitness so I can ride stronger outside (where it actually counts).
Weight doping in the D category of your Zwift race is good for fitness and something to do when the sun disappears for 4.5 months. But it is not and NEVER WILL BE MILEAGE!!!
Fight me.

2020 YTD update
Today is my fourth in a row with a 50 mile ride. I now sit at 7660 miles YTD. I have had 4 days off the bike already this month, now on a bit of a push to get to the 8000 mark. 18 days left in December to get there. The extended weather forecast is predicting considerably colder temp and quite a bit of rain. I may have to do some adjustments with my rides, but just 10 days with 34 miles gets me there. I do not see myself ever topping this year, mileage wise.
I do not feel like I am stressing over the numbers, or overdoing it, but, I do feel like it would be a shame to be so close to 8000 and not get there. Other than a sore rear end, I have really enjoyed all the miles this past 4 days. I have ridden a different bike each day, first Lemond Poprad, second Lemond Tourmalet, next, my Ochsner, and today my Airborne Zeppelin. The bike I have been riding the most, Soma Smoothie, is on the rack getting some clean up/maintenance done.
With all the challenges in 2020, I will have also have some really good things to reflect on., especially in my two wheel world.

update
I got in a 40 mile ride today and am now 150 miles from 8000 for 2020. I lost 5 days this past week due to a medical procedure, on my face, that kept me inside for that time. I knew I would have a couple of days off the bike, but I was not expecting 5 of them. We are now down to the final four days of 2020 and it is looking likely that I will get to the 8000 mark. I would like to finish up the year on my Soma Smoothie, which I bought and built back in April and May. It has become what I consider to be the most comfortable bike I own.

Still a couple more days on the calendar before 2020 is over, but when it is I'll post my results in this thread.

Last 2020 post
This morning I got in a 20 mile ride to give me 8000 for 2020, not quite a 22 mile per day average. My previous yearly high was 6000 in 2017.
