OK looked up for what you were carrying on about

a copy of the German made 2 speed geared crank, out of Taiwan..

Welcome to ATS

I suppose the Schlumpf CH , copyright has timed out..

Have been using the Swiss original Mountain drive for many years.. their Brompton version.

on my M3L.. 3 low gears added where the lowest in 1:1 range end..
functionally adding a 20t low. to a 50t, rather than a 54t high to a 34t low.

maybe the German company got a Taiwan company to take over production of that model
to lower the costs , raise profits,

the Swiss company shifted things to Germany since all the numbered secret bank accounts
have kept the CHF value too high, in currency exchange value..

My upright like yours is for loaded touring and geared similarly or possibly a bit lower. In low i lack aerobic fitness to keep balance for long pulling kid and trailer up hills too steep for second gear. Just got a used trike with rohloff/ats speed drive and pair of chainrings.
Greenspeed is now offering the ATS speed drive on their line of trikes. I will accept that for now as a substancial refrence for ATS.

i suspect that ATS makes all three schlumpf products for the german firm that owns them now. Marketing the 165% speed drive independantly was probably part of the deal after x time. Leaving schlumph brand alone for now with the 250% products. ATS website says they manufacture under licence to them.

on my 56 speed R’off trike, i do enjoy the gear range, the longer chain line and chain guides makes alignment less an issue for me. I can now bike as slowly as i need pulling trailer on family outings. Seller claimed it was a mountain drive, and i was dissappointed, but now planning to put the ats-speeddrives on my upright touring bike and wifes trike.

Overdrive is R'off approved ,

because 1 thru 7 are already in a reduction gear mode, so due to overstressing
a mountain drive voids the hub warranty,

[a swiss mountain drive is on my Brompton , 3 speed , even if it is damaged the hub internal parts are cheap and relatively easy to replace]

the 250% 'high speed' (over) drive may also be approved..

Low gear achieved with the speed-hub in a 406, 20" wheel, is a trike option ..

have a Bike Friday and a 26" wheel bike same hub cog
minimum gear 16:38, range is matched with a 16:53 in a 20" wheel..
