Specialized Stix light recall
I've just learned that Specialized issued a recall in 2016 for Sitx and Flux headlights and taillights. Apparently, there have been a small number of these lights that have overheated.
More information here: https://sbc-media.s3.amazonaws.com/L...r%20Notice.pdf
I have one of these lights (Stix taillight) that was sold to me with my road bike in late 2015 by a Specialized store in the UK, so it falls under the affected lights covered by this recall.
I'm picking up my new Specialized bike next weekend so was wondering where I stand regarding this recall notice. If I take my Stix light with me when I pick up my bike, would the Specialized store be obliged to exchange it under this recall notice? Of course, I'll be calling the store tomorrow to ask for this, but I just wanted to be armed with some rights info beforehand.
I love the light so would prefer my affected light to be replaced free of charge as per the recall notice, but I really don't want to pay for a new one as Specialized recommend that users immediately stop the affected lights.

Specialized Flux Expert Taillight
They will replace it with a currently available model. So you have to check that before you give it out of your hands.
I'd summarize all informations back in march 2016:

Thanks.
I checked with Specialized UK and they said the store will exchange the light for a newer Stix taillight.

So, the Stix Comp taillight was replaced with a newer Stix Elite taillight with no hassle today. The Elite does't look as good as the Comp but I imagine is technically better. Fitting and charging is exactly the same.

They replaced the plastic cover on the front on the Elite. Does the light disperse differently? I also have the Comp front/tail lights but purchased them recently. Are they all affected and allowed to get free Elite upgrades? I never felt them hot during charging.
Edit: Just saw the Elite vs Comp are brighter in lumens, have higher battery life, and a different battery life indicator. Going to see if I can get a free upgrade.

The Elite is slightly better. It also has better light dispersion from what looks like a fresnel lens compared to the old comp. so, effectively, it’s a free upgrade.

Bumping this. So how can they actually tell if your light is affected? I don't see any numbers anywhere whatsoever on mine and I know I bought it around the time of the recall, either just before or just after, and I'm pretty sure I also paid cash for them.
Is there any way for my LBS to be able to tell if mine is part of the recall or not?
