Cycling Equipment for Visibility
Hi all!
I'm doing a bit of research on runners/cyclists who exercise at night or in the early morning where there is not much sunlight. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on:
-what kind of equipment you use to be seen
-what you like and don't like about your equipment
-any improvements you want to for your equipment
-injuries/stories you've had highlighting the difficulties of being seen by vehicles, pedestrians, etc.
-anything else you'd like to talk about
Any feedback would be awesome!

I often ride early in the morning before/during sunrise. Here's a rundown of the equipment I use to be seen while riding in the dark:
Bright white spotlight headlight
Secondary white LED headlight in strobe mode
Two bright red LED tailights, one on the seat post and the other mounted under the seat
Helmet with red LED blinky installed on back, plus red reflective tape on rear and a large white patch of reflective tape on each side
White clip on ball cap light for front of helmet
Wheel LED spoke lights, two on each wheel, one green/one multicolor (flashing) on front, one red/one mutlicolor (flashing) on rear
8 strips of white reflective tape around each side of each wheel
Red reflective tape on rear of seat stays, a couple strips on sides of seat stays and chain stays
White reflective tape on front of forks, a couple strips on lower and upper ends of fork
White reflective tape patch on sides of frame near front
White reflective tape on top tube bag
White reflective tape on crank arms
Red reflective tape on rear of saddle bag
Neon yellow, green, or orange shirt
It must all work because cars tend to give me plenty of room and I've never had anyone tell me they couldn't see me. I really can't think of any improvements over this system since my bike is lit up like a Christmas tree and everyone should see me even in total darkness.

Active:
Pretty bright LED headlight
Rear flasher with three LEDs.
Passive:
My panniers have reflective patches
The tires on my commuter/touring bike have reflective sidewalls.
I am satisfied with what I have

I turn this (Tracer360) on when on the road (mot trail or path) plus a front light that lights up and pulse at the same time (CatEye Volt800) and a rear Supercycle blinking light.
No issue with the lights but the Tracer360 makes me look like a Christmas decoration when on. 'm thinking of buying this See.Sense lights to replace my rear and Tracer360 and supplement my Volt800 ligths next Fall.
What I have issues with is people riding without any lights at night. Almost hit one with my car when leaving a parking lot because I couldn't see him until my headlight reflected on him in front of my car (he was crossing in front of me and there was no street light)
