My new hero. Short of someone creating a flying folding bike, this has to be the ultimate. Thanks, Bob.

I've never used my folding kayak for commuting, but I have towed it behind my folding bike (BF Pocket Rocket) quite a few times. Once had a slightly embarrassing situation with the combination. I had gone kayaking in the Oakland estuary and was on my way home so I packed up the boat and put it on the trailer. Rode to the Lake Merritt BART station and got on a pretty empty train so didn't bother folding the bike. But then we came to the Coliseum station just as a game had finished so the platform was packed and people stormed into the BART car the moment the doors opened. Got a few nasty looks from people who noticed how much space I was taking up with my combination of bicycle + trailer/kayak. At least the kayak was folded so it was only 4' long instead of its usual 12'.

I have two folding kayaks (both skin on skeleton type). One is an expedition type with two skins, one for two paddlers and gear and the other for three paddlers plus gear. I can use the three-place version with just two paddlers and have room for two bikes and gear.

I have a Klymit, inflatable Dinghy. I have taken it places on my bike, inflated it, and done some paddling. I haven't yet taken it full-circle with the boat on the bike and then the bike in the boat. I have considered taking the boat and an inner tube up the local river so that I can tube down the river and tow my bike behind in the raft.
