Purchase Help - Felt v Giant
Yellow!
I am looking to buy a used bike, mostly for using as a commuting, short trip bike with need for some management of wet winter weather, but I don't want a fat bike.
There are three bikes available today for seemingly good prices.
A Felt Nine 60 for 350$, a Felt Surplus 10 for 800$ and a Giant with Fox/Maestro suspension (doesn't know model, so assume it's not the highest end one. From approximately 2012) for 700$.
I'm not an experienced, aggressive rider and really just need a functional bike but I'd be pleased to get the best deal on a better bike and grow into the sport, not necessarily the best bike for me today. If it's both, great.
Let's assume the components are all stock. All bikes are in excellent used condition.
Thoughts? I'm leaning towards the Giant, even though I definitely don't need the extra suspension, because I think the value is great.

Wrong section to ask about mountain bikes,...this is the BMX section.

You can also join mountain bike forums and ask them. Many of the folks on here are more impressed with latest, and greatest. At least that's how I perceive the Mountain Bike, Cylo, and Road Bike Sub Forums.
