Multiple map files on Garmin 520 plus?

I have a Garmin 520 Plus. I live in California and and heading for a bike trip in Germany and Austria.
I've downloaded OpenStreet maps for those countries.
In the past, due to storage considerations in my old 520 (regular, not plus) I I removed the map I was using to replace it with a map I needed to tavel.

The 520 Plus has lots of storage, so I didn't delete the USA map. I added the Austria map and named it gmapbmap-aus.img and the Germany map gmapbmap-germ.img

It SEEMS like they all load, even though I was given to believe I needed a specific name: "gmapbmap.img" for them to load.

Can anyone confirm or refute that this works? I can't figure out how to be sure until I'm in Germany and I'd sure like to.

Thanks.

It should work fine on the 520+.

If the 520+ lets you pan (slide) and zoom the map, you can look at it.

Zoom in to verify that there is detail.

The 520+ is very different from the 520. The 520 really doesn't support maps (it just displayed it and could only deal with one map).

For the 520+, use a name that isn't one of the existing names.
