For a nicer 50's rod brake model in what looks to be good basically original condition $200 is a fair price if everything works good.

I'm tempted, I'm just not sure I'd ride it that much. It does look to be in good condition. Seller said it was the late grandfathers bike.
Maybe if I lived in town and went to the coffee shop or something. It would be great bike to ride around in a big park at a sedate pace.

That's a cool bike. I have no problem with that price given the condition. This bike looks great.

....with the Hercules chainring, and some of the other vintagey look stuff on it, I'm guessing that somebody (probably the late grandfather) did quite a bit of work to get that bicycle arranged in that condition.
If it were mine, I don't think 200 bucks would be a bad ask. But there's a reasonably lively market for stuff like that where I live, and there's even a Tweed Ride every now and then.
If you don't think you'll ride it much, you probably won't.

@3alarmer
They had some great looking chainrings back then, I like the Rudge hand too. There is another chainring with cranes or heron on it I've seen that's really cool too.
The vintage English bike I'm really looking for is something like the Aero Special. That and a Schwinn 974 or similar are the only bikes I'm actively searching for.

I think it's a good price too. It's not an everyday bike, but I have an old Raleigh, and I really do enjoy riding around the neighborhood to the farmers market or bike party cruises. They do ride nicely and rod brakes work very well if the wheel is centered on the spokes correctly...better than the steel calipers. I love the original fuel headlamp!

Am I the only one who is bothered by the fact that this "vintage" 3-speed bike that belonged to someone's Grandfather has a decal on the head tube as opposed to a proper badge? Something is off IMO.

...why in the world would anyone go to all the trouble of repainting a 3 speed Raleigh as some sort of scam and then sell it for $200 ? And yeah, if you look at the photo again I think you'll see it's not the head tube. It might very well be a repaint, but if so it's very nicely done.
