Steel looks/feels better.
steel frames look better because they express the essence of eloquent simplicity that the bicycle is. Steel also absorbs road shock is more comfortable to ride. Also, because I'm USAF trained to look for stress cracks on aircraft based on manufacturers initial structure stress tests, I would be very cautious about putting my safety in the hands of a unknown foreign mass carbon bike frame maker.

I think it must just be "cool" in certain circles to be different from everyone else and use a word like crabon instead of carbon like most people use.

I can tell from your post count and join date that you are new. It's a running joke. Same with "drope the hamer", "guads", and "assplode" (which is what crabon frames often do). You shouldn't always take this place too seriously.

Interesting. I find that it grossly underestimates elevation gains around me(rolling farmland and whatnot). My GPS unit, that counts the elevation change as I ride, is consistently 30% more than what Strava shows. Each time my GPS auto uploads to Strava, I try to guess how far off they are from one another.

Lately, I have been riding my steel pedalbike a lot. It is a nice ride. Steel frame of unknown provenance, Dura Ace 10-speed groupset with downtube shifters, Ambrosio Crono wheels with Vittoria Corsa tubulars (23mm.) Solid ride all around.
Today, I took out my crabon bike out for a spin, after a year laying dormant. Focus Cayo, Force groupset, Psimet crabon tubulars. I followed the same route I rode on my trusty steelstead last week and lo and behold, I went over 2 mph faster on the crabon bike!
For the nonbelievers, I shall present evidence.
Exhibit 1, ride on the steel bike:
Note the average speed (shall not be confused with cruising speed.)
Exhibit 2, same ride on the crabon bike:
That's like a 15% gain in speed!
So, is crabon faster? Discuss.

sounds like you need to retest this bike experiment a number of times and average them out, conclude that steel is really slow but saves power
