Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is there a something similar to the Paul Racer Medium, but a little smaller?

Paul Racer is a CNC copy of Mafac RAID. The original is forged and so considerably smaller. For a 32mm tire the far more common Mafac Racer will do the job. If you have plenty of money the Rene Herse centerpull is a forged copy of Mafac RAID.

Adjusting Mafac is a bit of a trick but so is adjusting the Paul. Only downside to the old originals is the plastic bushings wear out. Rene Herse has you covered there, they have rebuild parts. Or you can search for the real old ones (it was 1969 they changed) that came with bronze bushings.

There is got to be a few out there that looks better than the Mafac Racer I used in the mid 70s.
Budget is not a problem, but the Compass are made for wider tires and I like the look of not having the extra size.
