Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Finally the search for parts and tools for my Olmo conversion seems to be coming to an end. Bike tinkering sure is cool. I've learned stuff and lost a couple of kilos riding.

Guize, I only hate them on a modern aero looking track bike. On a classing look bike, such as this beauty that was posted, that is what a gumwall tire was made for.

Thank you, guys! I'm really glad you like it!

The gumwalls really do look the part. They are Vittoria Corsa SC II. At first I thought they would be overkill as I use the bike for training. But hey, they look and roll so good. Why should we settle for second best things, when there's always so little time to ride?

I'll eventually cut the steerer down more, but I want to make sure I get the fit totally dialed in first.

Ran into a nice thick piece of steel. Did a little cutting and filing, matched up the holes to the rack mounts and is pm disc brake adapter. Here's another one I made.

From a ride this morning. Would post it in the Ride Pics thread but the ride itself wasn't anything particularly noteworthy (though still a good ride).

^^How's that bottle holder work for you? Does it move around or is it pretty sturdy? Does it damage the finish?

Most importantly, what make and model is it?

Really like that bottom picture.

@Potatofarmer Those rings are bumpers for the handlebars. They protect the top tube from dents when the front end swings free while you carry it or even if it flops to one side or the other.

It's a Two Fish Quick Cage Adapter and it works pretty much as the manufacturer intended with no damage to the frame. It has only ever come loose on me once and that was in the rain. The seal between the rubber adapter and the frame should always be tight, but especially so in damp riding conditions.
