Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Any decent wheel set under $200?

I am looking to replace my current 50mm wheel set that has quando hubs and the set weighs 4,800 grams with tires and tubes. I am looking for fairly light wheels at least 30mm. I have been shoping and I saw the aventon push wheel set for $170, I dont know much about bikes so if you do tell me if these are good if not then tell me what you know thanks.

Velomine has Formula/Archetype sets in that range, or Formula/Deep V if you really want that 30mm profile.

There is a brake track and it will eventually wear the black away.

While those Miche wheels will be lighter than what you currently have. They aren't light by any measure. If you want light or light-ish spend your pennies on a pair of these: Wabi Cycles fixed gear wheels

To get light deep-section wheels you'll need to spend $400+ on a custom wheel build or a used pair of American Classic 420s.

To really pinch your pennies, get a used light road-style front wheel for <$100 and upgrade your rear wheel down the line.

Man, I'd be super into those if they didn't have the breaking surface on them.
