Made Decision to turn my Road bike into Tri bike
I decided that I lack the $ to buy a good tri bike so I purchased some bad arse Vison Aero base bars with Profile TT clip ons and will turn the old girl into the most comfy laid back Tri bike......low cost aero....Stuff comes this week so I will keep you informed.
2015 is the year I turn 50 so I am motivated to kick butt.

You may have more comfort if you add a fast forward seat post to the mix. It'll open your hip angle up so you'll be in a more suitable position for the aero bars. Be careful your first couple of rides, leaning so far over the head tube will change your handling dramatically.

+1 on the seatpost. I've done a similar conversion to mine, and the post makes a world of difference. It makes the handling a little squirrely, but once you're used to it it's great.

I was going to try to reverse my seat post and try that. Newseat post is not cheap as I just spent $ on bars. The end bars shifters are also $100. But it is less than $1500.

Not all seatposts can turn, so check yours.
I was able to get my post on eBay for $30ish. There are deals to be had out there. Best to get now in the off-season. Wait another couple months and they'll all be scrambling for one.

I bought the redshift aero bars and seatpost for mine, I'm liking it a lot so far. If I've got the aero bars on, I can adjust the seatpost to forward position easily while riding. Also the aero bars have a quick release thing that makes you able to take them off and put them on easily without losing the position have them set up in. I have never ridden a TT bike or used other aero bars, so I have nothing to compare it too, but it is pretty comfortable to me.

I just read about the redshift stuff. I like the seat post but at $150 I need to pass. I saw forward facing seat posts Thompsons for $75 on ebay.
