Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Single speed conversion: chain size?

I'm converting a 10 speed Schwinn traveler to single speed and I have a 6-7 speed chain lying around and wanted to know if it is possible to use the chain given that I'm going to keep the existing chain ring?

Yeah it should be fine as long as you're not using any 1/8" stuff.
