Maxxis 26" DTH - Back in Stock!

I just got an email confirming that these are back in stock at Jensen.

I figured that I'd post this for folks doing drop bar conversions and looking for a decent tire.

Are those nice? Do you have them? How wide are they on what rims?

I've got a couple sets from a few years ago. They're fairly nice. I have a set on the tandem, mounted on Rynolites. The other set has been mounted fine on old narrow mtb rims as well as some modern Mavic disc rims. I can't say I've noticed a massive change in size between rim widths. With the exception of a few bikes, these should fit almost any 26" mtb.

Oh, I'm sure they'll fit. I'm just wondering how wide they are.

It really confuses me how tires often give a width in inches and a width in millimeters, and they aren't quite the same. I have a tire marked 26 x 2.0, for example, that is also marked 48 - 559. So what's the width, 2" (50 mm), or 1.9" (48 mm)? Or something else, in that general area?

I just mounted some 26 x 2.15” on Specialized X23 rims. I have not put a caliper on them, but using a ruler, they look like 2.0” at 60 psi.
I would be interested in knowing what psi others use. I will be using mine mainly on pavement, with a bit of benign crushed gravel trails.

I just mounted some 2.30's on Araya 26x1.5 rims. I think the inner width was around 19mm (someone may know for sure. I'm pretty sure these checked about 2.150" with 45 psi. I'll verify this evening.

Measured last night and they actually checked right on 2.200"

I run mine 40 in the back 30 in the front, almost exclusively on pavement, although some of our pavement needs air quotes, so "pavement". I took them on gravel recently, and they performed well.

ETA: 26" x 2.15"
