nice paceline!

That house had to be a nice “mansion” not that long ago. The picture doesn’t really capture it but it’s a big brick house with small wings on each side partially hidden by the trees. It’s a real shame someone just let it go. It has 5 acres but is in an awful location now. It’s on a 4 lane highway east of Salisbury.

We both know it is mostly - The Tale of the Tarmac.
But I do what I can,.....

which most easily accomplished with light wheels and good tubular tires.

edit:
Actually, the other Ergo equipped bikes are CF & Ti, so it's all pretty smooth.
And everyone knows , all those vintage 70s+80s lugged steelies weren't stiff,
and never attract any attention .
Therefore, my roadie life is just one of a smoother kroozer. .

I like her......... hat = a lot

Today’s ‘commute’ saw rain

Just wet

And rainy

Really nasty cleanup after riding miles of trail.

November 25, 2020, Tuesday was COLD and Windy with some very light snow showers but today, (Wed. 25), was quite nice, just a bit nippy at mid to high 40 F's and sunny with almost no wind!! Headed out to just pick up different area urban trails, back streets and bike lanes to get in a couple hour ride, 17 miles RT. Still trying to get use to my "new to me", 2007 Electra Townie 21d, coming from a recumbent trike the "sitting position" will take a bit of getting use to but still had a very enjoyable ride!

A decent view of Pikes Peak, off the Templeton Gap Trail, Co. Spgs., CO.

60 miles in gorgeous FL weather. I hope it continues! This ride puts me above 8,000 miles for the year. I’ve broken in two fantastic bikes - Domane and Infinito, both disc and Di2.

Mid November Ride

I hit the local trails a couple of days ago and managed to get a video of part of my ride. This was the first time for me using an action camera as well as video editing and the final product turned out better than I thought that it would. We’ve had a decent amount of snow over the past several weeks which created a relatively pristine setting for the shoot.

Exceptional mileage.
19mph does not leave much time for stopping, but = Any pictures?

I want to live a couple of years in your area and nearby.
Are Gibraltar visits allowed?

Many visits to Rota.
Couple auto trips along the Spanish coast.
Yum, nice port wines. And others, too.

I will search your prior posts for pics.

Nice 55 mile Thanksgiving day ride from the house to the in-laws on High Rock Lake. Very light traffic today. Thankful for another safe ride and having the health to still pedal along.

I just don’t seem to be able to cross over the lake without stopping for a picture?!?! Now I can enjoy that extra dessert!

Throwback Gaston County jersey....with the wet roads was hoping to keep my newer ones clean???

Sunshine never made an appearance.

Well, I’d planned to do a longer ride but kept piddling around until it was mid morning. But I got dressed and put on my cycling shoes. When I stood up the dreaded back spasms hit instantly. Geez. I still rode 33 miles but couldn’t really stand up out of the saddle. I get these darn things about 2-3 times a year. I can’t stand completely upright and walk around like a 100 year old........and it usually takes 5-7 days to get to the point I can play golf again. The thing that helps the most is blasting really hot water on it to loosen it up.

Ah, rarely take pictures, most of my rides are training so stopping to take pictures isn't really something I do unless I'm out mountain biking as a recovery ride, then I do.
I've never been to Gibraltar, only Spain, which is fantastic cycling country, but so is Portugal and here in the Algarve, you can cycle all year round, great climate.

Three days, three rides. 53, 41 and 50 miles today. Tomorrow the weather is supposed to turn cold, so this may be it for the season. 6,183 outdoor miles for 2020. My best season ever.

Last spring I got my first drop bar bike at dirtbikeadvisor.com and I probably won't have the whole bike upgraded. It's steel frame, steel fork with 12-mm through axles and water bottle bosses on the forks, so this frame is ideal for what I use, which wipes over wet gravel at a temperature of 18mph. I swapped off the disk brake rotors and calipers, bars (Super Flared Salsa Cowchippers) and other stuff, and I'm going to swap the Sora 9 speed group for the GRX 2x when I feel really like upgraded.

But I usually use my original bike. I purchased one of my roadbike (Bianchi Infinito) and another offroad bike (Salsa Fargo).

Cold, damp, drizzle, and a stout north wind. Chased by a mastiff mix. 20 miles. Still a good day on the Motobecane's saddle in Lewisville, TX.

In spite of capricious weather I had a pretty good week for late November.

Fortunately I had equipped my 25 y.o beater Rocky Mountain mountain bike for the season. With snow and -5C weather last Tuesday I was able to test out the new tires. The ride was short, 27 km. The limiting factor is my feet getting cold in spite of insulated boots! On Friday, rain forced me to ride indoors on my trainer, but by Sunday the weather was nice and rideable. Alas the rain had turned the some of gravel roads to muddy mush, especially the sections in the shade which didn't dry out but I still managed 35 km. I live on a gravel road do 90% of my riding on gravel. Not keen on road riding this time of the year due to the low sun and cars not expecting to see fools like I on the road at this time of the year.

This morning my son, who co-owns a bike shop, gave a radio interview on the morning show of the local CBC station, on the subject of winter riding in Montreal.

45Nrth studded winter tires

Beater Rocky Mountain (1995 vintage)

Starting out after a snowfall

Starting out down my driveway

Roads were snowy and pretty icy in spots but the studded tires handled them with aplomb

Unfortunately by the weekend, rain had turned the gravel roads into muddy mush.
