$375.

you know the story, tech person gets “vested”

Person goes to bike store and lays out serious cash for bike and all the accoutrements.

Person decides riding bikes takes effort and time away from gaming. Plus, there is that new BMW with the neon stripe for just the right touch of “how cool am I.”

Bike sits in garage unloved, except by rats who chewed part of the seat and the neon pink bar wrap. (No worries, a better saddle and wrap will come on bike)

size 53 CTC seat tube
55 top tube.

poprad!!

Perfect for Australia!

That is a shockingly clean example of an '88 Sirrus! I wish I had the room to have kept mine - it was a truly exceptional bike with great handling. The younger gentleman I sold it to was delighted to get it, too, as he understood what it was he was buying.

Seriously, that is a LOVELY bike, and GLWTS!

I have an '89 Rockhopper Comp I bought new with the same style of color scheme as this Sirrus, except mine is more of a French Blue & Ivory. So I have always had a soft spot for that particular color scheme that Specialized used in the late '80s (is Poprad a reference to the color scheme?). Usually the decal graphics are failing pretty badly by now, especially on the top tube, but yours has the best preserved I've ever seen, so, as you say, the bike appears to have had very little use. If it were just a tad bigger I'd already have messaged you, but alas, the size just wouldn't work for me. Beautiful bike, GLWS.

Thanks for setting me straight about the pop rad, I really had no idea.

Also had to look up Patrick Nagel -- I do remember that art style from back in the day. Would I be out of line to say I'm glad its time has come and gone? Oddly enough, I like the pop rad, but not the Nagel artwork!

After Duran Duran’s Rio album cover, Nagel’s stock went way up.

then a divorce.

his wife flooded the world with cheap prints.

I remember that album cover now that you mention it.

RE: The divorce, what's that old saying -- 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?' Maybe especially if she has access to your prints...ouch...

Not true. He died in 84, he was still married.

I dunno. Bike flights has gone up, but so has Chinese food.

I shipped a similar bike to Alaska (air, not trucks) for $230 and Alabama for $220.

I miss AMTRAK cargo. So cheap and easy.
