Here are my 2 vintage babies.
The road bike is a 1972 CCM Turismo, My dad bought it brand new in 72 and after 1211 miles (odometer reading) of hard use he wreaked it and stored it. I recently brought it out of storage, completely disassembled it and restored it to close to original and now use it regularly. I even managed to clean up and salvage the original bar tape. The rims were bent, tires rotted, cables seized, rear cassette toasted and really really dirty. I was able to free up the cables and only had to replace the cassette and tires. Would have been nice if it had the matching 3.3.3 cassette but I couldn't risk it catching when I ride it because this bike is a rider.
The second bike is a 1950s CCM I believe, that I bought used online. I flipped the bars, cleaned it up and greased it etc. It was in amazing shape just really dirty. A good polish and a little grease and it is a stellar bike.
Let me know what you guys think

Try using Flickr then as a host.
Free and a snap to adjust image sizes.
I happen to use Flickr Pro for a wide variety of uses, mainly family/car/sailboat pics that are unavailable to the public unless warranted.
Very handy!!!

Hmmm... I upload photos to Picasa. I don't understand how I would attach an image from Picasa (or Flickr) in any different fashion. Here, I used the upload feature and referenced a Picasa shot of my RRB's fork crown instead of uploading the image to the bf site:
It still displays a thumbnail, not the full image, and this one isn't even clickable... Can I simply paste image content into a post somehow, instead of referencing it with an img tag and URL or upload id?

Test to see if Photobucket shows my new (to me) 1983 Trek 500 in the large size or thumbsize:
Woot! Finally. I just opened the pic of the bike I have on Photobucket, right-clicked and selected "save Image location," then pasted the results here, adding [ img ] tags fore and [ / img ] aft.
Now I need to find out how to make it a little smaller. (Never be satisfied, eh?)
Next, my also new Lovely Landau (1984 Nishiki) every bit as original as the Trek:

Sorry to experiment here. This is just a copy image URL from Picasa...
edit: That sucks. The image I referred to is 480x800. I just used the "copy image URL" in Chrome, then pasted that within an img ... /img pair. Still with the sucky thumbnails. Methinks the author of the BB software doesn't like Picasa.

One thing you can try playing around with is the Retrieve remote file and reference locally checkbox in the Insert Image dialog. I find that I typically uncheck that as the BB software complains that the image is too large without doing so. Downside is that if you delete the image file later, it won't show up here anymore.

Here, on the other hand, is me first downloading the image then uploading it:
Maybe it's not Picasa that vB doesn't like, but me...

Any idea how I can contact a moderator to see if there is some parameter I have failed to set properly?

Ok so here's my dads bike. It was his dad's and it looks like its an early 70's campagnolo with full campagnolo components. Story is my grandfather used to race it in the early 70's all the way to the 80's. the bike has not been used since then and it's located in Central America at the moment. My dad will bring It to Cali for me in a month. Will keep u guys updated on the rebuilt of this beautiful bike.

My 1985 Cannondale SR 500
Heres my newly finished 1985 Cannondale SR 500. Now, I would say it is much closer to a SR900. Powder coated Outer Space Blue Sparkle (it has pearl and gold flakes in it) The photos dont do this color justice. Designed and applied the decals myself. Note the wheat stalks on the fork were a personal touch for fun (I live in Kansas and no, its not that flat). Almost a full Shimano Sante 7 spd group on it. Please if anyone has a set of Sante brake levers they dont want let me know! Vintage Selle Italia Turbo saddle. Shimano RS20 front wheel and Shimano RS10 rear wheel. Continental Ultra Race tires. Vintage cotton cloth bar tape. I also have Shimano 600 aero seat post on the way. Let me know what you guys think this is my first build of a vintage bike

Very nice. I know you put a lot of thought and hard work into getting that completed.

Just picked this up at an old local bike/lock and key shop after a 25 year break from cycling. Not sure of the year, but going on the font used in the logo I think it's pre 1991. Shimano 105 components, campy lambda wheels, look pedals and a well used selle italia turbo saddle. It came with a profile aero bar, but I removed it.

With me, it was go to the LBS and buy a new set of tires for my dilapidated Lambert. However, it's gotten much, much more complicated than that, since then.

Other than a scrape near the bottom bracket from a crappy bike stand, it's pristine.
