Consistent with the gospel according to Sheldon Brown:
”Spoke length is measured from the inside of the elbow to the very end of the threads, most usually in millimeters.”

question two:
on my cheap town bike, i want to know the nipple length, without remove a spoke. how can i measure the length (dimension C), if dimension B is not visible?

@MTB Addict - Get a nipple from your LBS that appears to be the same and measure. Not only do you not know B, you don't know C-B.

Very helpful
I've avoided dealing with wheels as much as possible, but this bit of info will go in "the vault." Thanks for the information.
