Heads up for those with squeamish significant others

Last night, I watched a pre-screening of the movie Sabotage. During the big chase scene, a female cyclist crossing an intersection is broadsided at full speed, thrown on the windshield and covers the entire windshield with an excessive amount of blood.

Not a movie for significant others already hyper about our cycling.

Expect bike advocates to picket movie theaters protesting the "open season on bicyclists" portrayal.

Maybe not, since the bad guys also shot and killed a motorist just as a means to block the roadway.

Is the bike causal to her demise in some way? Wouldn't she have gotten splattered if walking or running across the intersection?

Cyclists will probably show up in droves...... as when this "gem" of a movie that decided to make field goals out of a couple of cyclists, and any other person on the road.

I'd argue that it is not bad. Cyclists as regular road users, like the usual pedestrians and drivers getting mauled in such movies.

What spoiler? He didn't make any mention of how the bike fared in the collision.

On the other hand...it will show the automotive driving public the horrifying results to cyclist of a high speed collision and thus shock them into being more careful drivers around all vulnerable road users in the future…nahhhhhh.

well, at least now she is prepared for the worst, so if you get crippled she'll be like: "well, OK at least you're not dead"

If you speak of my wife. She knows I still have 3, or maybe 4 of my 9 lives left. Plus she was an operating room nurse, so the blood disturbs her less than most.
