1973 Motobecane Grand Record

Original condition xcept for Shimano bottom bracket.. Any comments on desireability? I've shrunk enough that I can no longer ride this comfortably.

You're not going to get a meaningful appraisal without good pictures and letting us know your location.

Motobecane changed the frame tubing and components from year to year, so the date of manufacture helps as well.

A '73 Grand Record is a great classic bike. Reynolds 531 tubing and equipped with Campagnolo Nuovo Record derailleurs, TA crank, Brooks Pro saddle. Is it the black and red painted model? One of the nicest paint schemes from the early '70's. In good condition worth a few hundred dollars.

This is a great bike; frame, paint job, and original equipment were all of high quality. A few hundred dollars sounds about right in a larger city assuming (a) the bike is cosmetically in good shape; and (b) the bike still has its original equipment.

I have found, restored (street not perfect restorations) a lot of vintage road bikes. More than 100, for sure. Of all those bikes, my 1978 Motobecane was something special, offering great aesthetics and great ride quality...

Nice bike this was a model that was top end light touring bike in the early 70's . That went way downhill to being semi junk by the late 70's early 80's. which hurts value a bit on these so really on $300 for a early 70's version in great shape. I do like the black and red paint with gold pinstriping lug details on these very 70's French.
